Winiveria is the Chateau Mere winery in the ancient Kakheti wine region of Georgia. The company itself was founded in 2005 by George Piradashivili, while the Chateau Mere resort with its agritourism area, accommodations, and restaurant opened its doors in 2011, becoming a perfect base for wine-loving travelers, who want to discover the local culture and wines. Winiveria produces both European-style and traditional Kakheti wines with local grape varieties such as Kisi, Khikhvi, Kakhetian Mtsvane, Rkatsiteli and Saperavi. The grapes come from local growers and from vines aged between 20 and 25 years.
Winiveria Mukuzani wine is obtained from Saperavi grapes, grown in the microzone of Mukuzani, and harvested by hand. The vinification takes place in controlled temperature steel tanks and the wine is not filtered before bottling.
The wine is dark ruby in color, quite firm and spicy. It smells of sweet black fruit, blueberries, blackberries, plums, dark chocolate, and black pepper. It has a generous and intense taste, round with fruity and spicy accents and velvety tannins typical of the Saperavi grape. The aromatic complexity is the result of the unique microclimate of Mukuzani. It will be an excellent match with roasted red meat and game.
