Founded by Norwegian billionaire Alexander Vik in 2004, Vina Vik is a true passion project set in Chile’s pristine Millahue Valley. Vik dreamed of founding a world-class winery here in Chile and brought together a talented team of winemakers and grape growers headed up by Patrick Valette whose family own the famous Château Pavie in Bordeaux. The winery now produces a handful of exceptional wines from their 900 acres of vineyards as well as selling on grapes to other wineries.
La Piu Belle or “the most beautiful” is named after a goddess revered by the indigenous people of the Millahue Valley who features on the striking bottle design which was created by artist Gonzalo Cienfuegos. The wine is composed of Cabernet Sauvignon, Carmenere, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Syrah and spends 21 months maturing in oak barrels before bottling and release.
The result is a rich and powerful red wine which is bursting with juicy dark berry notes and hints of sweet spice, licorice and dark chocolate. The first sip reveals a full body, firm tannins, well-developed structure and very long finish which make this a great addition to the cellar for at least another decade of ageing.
Pas de problème particulier.
