The famous Spanish winery Miguel Torres decided to open its Chilean branch in the Curico Valley in 1979, with the aim of producing wines with excellent value for money. In over 40 years of activity, the winery has played an extremely important role in the Chilean wine industry, thanks to an innovative philosophy and the use of modern technologies. In 2012, the company received organic certification.

The Carmenère grapes are harvested by hand from vineyards located in the Peumo terroir, in the Cachapoal Valley. Here the sub-humid Mediterranean climate, the difference in temperature between day and night, and the excellent drainage of the granite and rocky soils guarantee a slow maturation and the production of very balanced wines. After fermentation, the wine is aged in a mix of French barriques and Austrian foudres for 12 months.

Produced in limited quantities, the Cordillera Carmenère by Miguel Torres Chile has a deep and bright crimson color. The nose reveals an intense concentration of forest fruits (mulberry and blackberry, blueberry, and currant), followed by sweet spicy aromas. On the palate, it is dense and velvety, concentrated and full, powerful and round. The finish is long and persistent with some toasted and spicy notes. Perfect with lamb, in Middle Eastern or Indian recipes, and with grilled meat.
