This is a 100% Fiano wine, with a gorgeous straw yellow colour in the glass. It opens with a generous nose of orchard and citrus fruits, honeysuckle, white flowers, and vanilla bean. The fruits were sourced from estate-owned vineyards in Lapio, Campore, a picturesque terroir near the historic city of Naples.

Terredora Di Paola was founded in 1978 by Walter Mastroberardino, a man who embodies the slow heat of southern Italy, and his family – Daniela, Paolo, and his late son and wife, Lucio and Dora. It occupies a 180-hectare estate on the Irpinia hills, a volcanic terroir that surrounded the river valleys of Sabato and Calore.

On the palate, this Fiano is elegant and fresh, with a velvety touch. Hints of pear and green apple intertwine with lemon zest and orange, coupled with delicate notes of acacia, honey, and baking spice. The Fiano fruits were picked late, at the end of October, followed by 30 months of ageing in the barrel and the bottle, granting the wine a complex, mature character. Serve it slightly chilled, and consider pairing it with fine white fish dishes, asparagus, or green risottos.
