Ever since the foundation of Tenuta Ulisse by brothers Antonio and Luigi Ulisse in 2006, the estate has focused on producing exceptional bottlings of indigenous Abruzzo varieties which showcase the very best the region has to offer. Their Cococciola is a fascinating and delicious expression of a rare local grape which is predominantly grown in the province of Chieti where Tenuta Ulisse is based. The variety typically produces small bunches of grapes which take a long time to ripen, often only reaching full ripeness in early October.

This bottling from the Ulisse brothers is bright, fresh and lively with an abundance of citrus zest, white peach and floral aromatics. On the palate there is a vibrant, mouth-watering acidity which is balanced by the medium body and clean finish. The wine is vinified in stainless steel tanks where it is aged for three months to showcase the character of the Cococciola grape with minimal intervention in the winery.

The bright and breezy character of this Italian white made it a superb gastronomic wine which partners beautifully with grilled fish, roast chicken, and all kinds of leafy summer salads. It is also ideal for serving as a refreshing aperitif in the garden or backyard.
