Looking at environmentally friendly ways to grow grapes that will result in fabulous wines, means that the flora and fauna of the estate is treated with the utmost respect. Vines are cultivated as gently as possible which is the first stage of producing exceptional wine. Hand harvesting and sorting of the grapes ensures that only the best grapes are used and that the vines are protected from machine harvesting.
For this Gruner Veltliner very ripe grapes are hand harvested from the south east facing vineyards. The wine is matured for several months on the lees in oak barrels prior to bottling.
The gold colour of the wine leads into a nose that offers ripe yellow fruit, pineapple, passion fruit and a hint of citrus.
The palate shows just how good this wine is! Ripe apple, rich spice, citrus notes and a hint of honey give this full bodied wine an elegance, superb balance yet powerful and intense. Fresh herbal notes mixed with a hint of vanilla sweetness makes this wine complex and delightful.
As you would expect, the finish is long and luxurious – a fantastic wine.
Will match fantastically well with cheese and hearty meat dishes, pork, shellfish, fish, or vegetarian dishes.
