    The To Kalon Reserve is the pinnacle of Robert Mondavi Winery, a seamless Cabernet Sauvignon with a splash of Petit Verdot. It begins with a rich bouquet of blackberry, cassis and plum, supported by subtle hints of black tea, eucalyptus and juniper berries. The fruits were all sourced from To Kalon, a true gem of Napa Valley and one of the finest vineyards in the world.

    The Robert Mondavi Winery is one of the best-renowned wineries in California, and an essential stop for any fan of Napa Valley reds. It was established in 1966, when its eponymous founder recognised the importance of the soils in To Kalon Vineyard, in Oakville. Today, Wine Enthusiast’s Winemaker of the Year, Geneviève Janssens, maintains the winery’s excellent standards, bringing her profound knowledge of French grapes to the California winery.

    On the palate, the To Kalon Reserve is smooth and velvety, with a fresh dose of acidity and finely textured, dusty tannins. Classic notes of blackcurrant, liquorice, chocolate and tobacco are perfectly infused with graphite, ripe black cherry and an oaken backbone. It is a lush, smooth drinking experience, with the potential to age for an extremely long time in the cellar. It’s the perfect wine for pairing with umami vegetable pies, rich meat dishes, or mushroom stew.
