Often regarded as the younger brother of the famous Brunello di Montalcino, Rosso di Montalcino wines are crafted from the Sangiovese grapes and offer exceptional value for money along with an easy-going flavour profile.

This vibrant Rosso di Montalcino opens with bright berry notes and hints of cigar box, licorice and ripe plums. The first sip reveals a medium body, well-rounded tannins and intense dark fruit notes which linger long on the tongue. The smooth entry and fruit-forward personality make this a great wine to enjoy with typical Italian charcuterie, hard cheeses or dishes like freshly-made pasta served with a rich tomato sauce.

Poggiarellino is a small family-run winery in the gorgeous Val d’Orcia hills to the north of Montalcino which has been in the hands of the same family for more than two centuries. The estate still stays true to its traditional agricultural roots, with the 30 acres of land divided between cereal production, olive trees and three acres of vineyards where they produce their highly-rated Brunello and Rosso di Montalcino wines. These wines frequently receive top scores in the mid and high 90s from international wine critics like James Suckling and Wine Enthusiast.
