Rosé Wine
Mordoree Tavel Rose La Dame Rousse 2021
Drink now or cellar for up to 7 years. Serve chilled.
The Mordoree domaine was founded in 1986 by Francis Delorme along with his son Christophe. Today the estate is run by Christophe’s wife, Madeleine, and her daughter, Ambre, who work 50 hectares of vines in the southern Rhone Valley. The whole domaine is organic and Madeleine and Ambre also use biodynamic practices in the vineyard and cellar to ensure they are working in harmony with nature at every step of the winemaking process.
This stunning rosé wine is predominantly made with Grenache grapes along with smaller quantities of Cinsault, Mourvedre and Syrah as well as Clairette and Bourboulenc grapes. All of the grapes are harvested by hand on the estate from 40 year old vines and they are then fermented in stainless steel tanks to preserve the gorgeous pure fruity character from these indigenous grape varieties.
The result is a vibrant rosé which exhibits a gorgeous salmon pink hue and intoxicating aromas of strawberries, raspberries and grapefruit. The first sip reveals a racy acidity, light body and delicate ripe red berry and citrus flavours which linger on the tongue. The dry and refreshing character of this rosé make it an ideal companion for spicy Asian dishes, fresh seafood and sushi.
