Today Frano Miloš is widely regarded as one of Croatia’s top winemakers after two decades of working hard to modernise and update the winery on the Pelješac Peninsula which has been part of his family for generations. Frano is responsible for most of the runnings of the winery, but he is also joined by his wife and three children who all play a role in the business. Frano’s main focus is the Plavac Mali variety, an indigenous grape which is perfectly suited to the sunny conditions on the Pelješac Peninsula.

This delicious rosé is made with grapes sourced from old Plavac Mali vines grown on the slopes of Peljesac peninsula which are hand-harvested and farmed organically. Frano only uses the grapes grown at the highest altitude for his Stagnum rosé to ensure the wine is fresh and full of life. Upon arrival at the winery the grapes are treated with the utmost care and fermented in stainless steel to showcase the lively red fruit character and the refreshing acidity which are so typical of the Plavac Mali grape variety. The family also only use wild yeasts found naturally in the winery environment to make their wines rather than adding commercial yeasts to initiate the fermentation process.
