Founded after the Second World War, Livio Felluga is located in the Cormons area, in the province of Gorizia, and is considered one of the wineries that played a fundamental role in the rebirth of quality wine production in north-eastern Italy. Today the estate extends over approximately 155 hectares of vineyards in the Collio and Colli Orientali del Friuli denominations.
The Friulano grapes are selected and harvested manually from the Colli Orientali area, near the border with Slovenia. The vineyards are planted on the typical soil of the area, locally called Ponca, and made up of marl and sandstone of Oecene origin. After a brief cold maceration on the skins, fermentation takes place in steel vats. The finished wine is matured on the lees for six months in steel tanks. This process guarantees greater aromatic complexity and structure.
Livio Felluga's Friulano reveals a bright color with light yellow tones and golden reflections. Its aromatic profile is rich and broad with citrus and floral notes, and hints of stone fruit and tropical fruit. On the palate, it has a good body. It is rich and fragrant with a well-balanced acid note and a fresh finish with hints of almonds. The most traditional pairing is with San Daniele ham, but this wine also goes very well with white fish and seafood.
