Drink it now or cellar for up to 15 years. It is recommended to decant it for half an hour.

Located in the Naoussa wine region of northern Greece, Ktima Foundi was founded in 1992 by Nicholas Foundis. In this region, mainly known for the production of Xinomavro, this small winery produces high-quality wines that are a strong expression of this variety, thanks to careful vineyard care and modern winemaking technologies.

This red wine is made from Xinomavro grapes from a 1.5-acre vineyard located at an altitude of 200 meters in the Ramnista area of the Naoussa wine region. Here the sandy loam soil guarantees optimal conditions for the Xinomavro which manages to express all its aromaticity and to produce wines with a good structure and high acidity. After vinification, the finished wine is aged for one year in a blend of new and used French oak, and a subsequent further year in the bottle.

The Ktima Foundi Naoussa has an intense and brilliant red color. On the nose, it reveals aromas of ripe red fruit, such as cherries and currants, followed by notes of spice and wood. On the palate, it is dense and rich with lively acidity and firm but ripe tannins. The finish is long and slightly spicy. It is ready to drink now but can evolve well with a few years in the cellar. It goes well with red meat stews seasoned with tomatoes and spices.
