Kellerei Bozen Pinot Grigio 2018

The architecturally stunning winery of Kellerei Bozen rises up out of the Alpine Alto Adige landscape like a bronze cube, marking the landscape with a landmark that represents the 224 families who make up the cooperative. The crisp mountain air and steep slopes of the surrounding vineyards around St. Magdalena are ideally suited to white wine varieties like Pinot Grigio, Gewurztraminer and Chardonnay.

This Pinot Grigio begins life in hillside vineyards around Bolzano and Renon planted on well-draining gravel and alluvial soils. Following the harvest the grapes are gently pressed and fermented in stainless steel tanks to emphasise the aromatics and purity of the Pinot Grigio variety. On the nose there are uplifting citrus, pear, and green apple notes which carry through onto the palate.

Light and fresh with plenty of crisp fruit character, this is an ideal wine to serve as a summer aperitif or to enjoy while dining al fresco with a generous platter of fruits de mer, pan-fried cod, or leafy salads. It also makes a perfect match for soft cheeses and creamy risottos thanks to the mouthwatering acidity which helps to cleanse and refresh the palate before the next bite.
