Josef Jamek is one of the most prominent Austrian wine producers due to his significant role in the development of Austrian viticulture and the introduction of monovarietal wines. The company, which owns about 25 hectares of vineyards in the Wachau wine region, produces mainly white wines from Riesling and Gruner Veltliner grapes.

Stein Am Rain Gruner Veltliner Federspiel is made with grapes from a vineyard located in the Ried Steinwand area. Here the soils consisting of primary rock and clayey matter give a distinct mineral vein to the wines.

This Gruner Veltliner, elegant and light, is full of nuances and personality. On the nose, it reveals a fresh and vibrant aromatic profile with delicious notes of apple, pear, and mango, some hints of lime and grapefruit, and then wild herbs. On the palate, it is complex and lively, lean and juicy with the typical sharp acidity of this variety, and a strong mineral vein that returns on the finish in a long and persistent way. It is a versatile wine in food pairing: traditionally it is the best companion with all recipes that include asparagus or artichokes and can match wonderfully with some spicy Asian dishes.
