Bursting with lusciously ripe fruit and silky soft tannins, this powerful red is a classic example of California’s signature Zinfandel style with an unmistakably big and bold flavour profile. The fruit for this bottling is sourced from top quality plots all over California, including sites in Sonoma and Amador. This helps to create a perfectly-balanced wine with hints of freshness from the cooler sites nearer the ocean and vibrant fruit flavours from warmer areas.
As soon as you pour out a glass you’ll notice the rich blackberry, cassis, dark plum and damson notes along with hints of tea leaves, sandalwood and a touch of spice. On the palate there’s a generous full body and intense dark cherry and wild berry flavours along with hints of vanilla, caramel, and cinnamon.
The creators of this delicious Zinfandel are Joel Gott and his wife Sarah who founded their very own wine label in 1996 to showcase some of America’s finest terroirs. Their first wine, the Amador County Zinfandel, immediately received rave reviews from Robert Parker and Wine Spectator. This success has driven them to discover more hidden gems in California, Washington and Oregon, selecting only the best fruit for their exclusive American wines.
