Located in Gevrey-Chambertin, the Burgundy estate of Jean-Michel Guillon & Fils was founded in 1980 by Jean-Michel himself and is now run by his son Alexis. The estate covers around 40 hectares of vineyards, spread across some of the region’s most prestigious appellations such as Gevrey-Chambertin and Clos-Vougeot. The estate produces a wide range of red wines and 4 white wines.

One of the distinctive features of their winemaking is the use of 100% new oak. The region’s exceptional terroirs, old vines, and low yields ensure wines of great concentration, elegance, and balance where the oak is perfectly integrated with the fruit.

In the glass, the wine reveals a light straw color and a broad and fragrant aromatic profile with delicate notes of tropical fruit and white peach, toasted almond, and vanilla, followed by floral scents. On the palate, it is round and well structured, lively and fresh with a bright acidity and a strong and well-integrated mineral vein. The finish shows good persistence and savory hints. Try it with salmon and spinach lasagna, white wine chicken scallopini, or medium-aged cheese.
