Tempranillo
Gomez Cruzado Vina Dorana Reserva 2017
Drink it now or cellar for up to 15 years. It is recommended to decant it for half an hour.
The Gómez Cruzado winery has very ancient origins dating back to 1886 when the Mexican aristocrat Ángel Gómez de Arteche decided to produce his own wines in the lower part of Haro. In 1916, the brothers Jesús and Agustín Gómez Cruzado bought the winery and baptized it with the name it retains today. The company then belonged to several investors and, at the beginning of the new century, it was acquired by the Baños family.
Viña Dorana is a red wine produced with Tempranillo and Garnacha grapes harvested in old vineyards located in the Alto Najerilla area near the Cárdenas river, between the cities of Cordovín, Badarán, and Cárdenas on ferrous-clayey soils at altitudes between 600 and 710 meters above sea level. After a traditional vinification, the wine is aged in French oak barrels for 24 months, and then in the bottle for a further 12 months.
This is an elegant and intense wine with appealing aromas of red fruit and sweet spices. On the palate, it is round and soft with good freshness and balance. The tannins are fine and the finish is long and warm. Try it with grilled or roasted lamb.
