Girlan Trattmann Pinot Noir Riserva 2022

Drink it now or cellar for up to 15 years. No need to decant, but best to open it half an hour before service.

Founded in 1923, by 23 winemakers in Girlan, in the Alto Adige wine region, the Girlan winery today has around 200 members under the leadership of Helmut Meraner, Oscar Lorandi, and Helmut Strumpflohner. The cooperative's vineyards, planted with native and international vines, extend over approximately 220 hectares located between 250 and 550 meters above sea level, in the best areas of Bassa Atesina and Oltradige, on mixed soils.

The Pinot Noir grapes are selected from the slopes of Mazzon and Girlan, where the vines enjoy sunny exposures and ideal altitudes for the cultivation of this vine. After fermentation, the finished wine is aged for over 12 months in a mix of barriques and oak barrels, and for a further 8 months in the bottle. The result is a cru wine of great elegance and good longevity.

The Pinot Noir Riserva Trattman has a clear and brilliant color with ruby red tones. Its aromatic profile is broad and fragrant with fruity notes of cherry and small berries, floral nuances, and light aromas of sweet spices. On the palate, the wine is fresh and juicy with silky, well-integrated tannins. The finish is long and delicately fruity. Try it with roast hare or rabbit and medium-aged cheeses.
