A historic winemaking family from the Langhe, the Rossos have been cultivating vineyards in the Serralunga d'Alba area for over 100 years. But it is since the 1980s that the company has had a major qualitative breakthrough in production, contributing fundamentally to the fame of Nebbiolo in the world. The winery, led by Giovanni's son, Davide since 2001, today owns about 10 hectares of vineyards distributed across a dozen prestigious crus.
The Nebbiolo grapes are hand-selected and harvested from seven vineyards located in the municipality of Serralunga d'Alba at an altitude of between 300 and 350 meters that enjoy a south-east/south-west exposure. After a period of maceration on the skins and fermentation, the finished wine rests in French oak barrels for 18 to 36 months.
The Barolo del Comune di Serralunga d'Alba is a very expressive and deep wine with an intense and broad aromatic profile and notes of red fruits, plums, and rose petals, hints of cocoa and black pepper. On the palate, it is juicy and soft with firm tannins. It has the mineral character of the Serralunga wines with a long and fresh finish. Excellent with red meat stews, roasted mushrooms or beef filet with truffles.
Pas de problème particulier.
