The Giovanni Corino family winery is one of the most prestigious ones in Piedmont and the Langhe hills, and it is widely famous for its Barolo wines. The company, founded in 1952 by Giovanni, who initially worked the rented land in the parish of La Morra, is today managed by Giuliano together with his wife Stefania. Their winemaking philosophy is based on a great love for the territory and respect for the environment, which is reflected in the vineyard in the elimination of pesticides and the exclusive use of organic fertilizers.
The Barbera grapes are harvested from vineyards planted on clayey-limestone soils and then left to macerate for about a week. After vinification and malolactic fermentation, the wine remains in barriques for approximately 18 months. It is then assembled and left in steel for another 3-4 months.
Barbera d'Alba Ciabot du Re has an intense color with ruby tones and violet reflections. On the nose, it reveals a fruity aromatic profile with notes of berries, hints of vanilla, and other sweet spices. On the palate, it is juicy and lively with good structure and a pleasant, well-balanced freshness. The finish is persistent and fruity. It is the perfect wine for game birds, especially partridge, pigeon and pheasant.
