Galil Mountain Winery is located in the ancient winemaking region of the Upper Galilee where viticulture has been carried out for at least two millennia. Founded in 2000, the winery occupies an ideal setting for making top quality wines thanks to the proximity to Israel’s highest mountain range where altitudes reach up to 1000 metres above sea level. The combination of a sunny Mediterranean climate and the cooling effects of the mountains help to preserve freshness and aromatics in the wines as well as ensuring optimum ripeness every vintage.

Galil’s magnificent Alon red is a blend of classic international grape varieties; Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah dominate the cuvee along with much smaller quantities of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. The grapes are fermented in stainless steel tanks and then the young wine is transferred to French oak barrels to mature for 1 year before bottling.

The result is a generous, powerful red with intense blackberry, plum and cassis notes on the nose along with hints of dried herbs, licorice and bitter chocolate. The entry is smooth and well-rounded with a generous full body, firm tannins and long finish with ample sweet spice and dark fruit notes.
