Alejandro Vigil and Catena’s youngest daughter, Adriannateamed up in 2009 to create Bodegas Aleanna in the Uco Valley. They make traditional, easy-drinking food-friendly Argentinian wines. Their vineyards span several areas including Lujan de Cuyo, Gualtallary, and Tupungato.
This great Argentine red wine is made with Malbec and small additions of white Semillon grapes, from a plot located in the Cordón El Cepillo, on colluvial soil with marine limestone. After fermentation in cement tanks at a controlled temperature and cold maceration for a period of 5 days, the finished wine rests for 64 months in foudres and then for a year in the bottle.
As Bravas Malbec has a complex and intense aromatic profile with notes of ripe dark fruit and undergrowth, spicy and tobacco hints. On the palate, it is a juicy and energetic wine thanks to a marked mineral vein and a bright acidity. It is an elegant and austere wine. The finish is long and tasty. It’s ready to be uncorked now and a perfect match for a beef filet, but if you're feeling generous, you can keep it for a decade or more.
