The Turckheim Gewürztraminer is a dry white, harvested from one of the warmest, sunniest spots in Alsace, a typically cool climate region. It begins with classic aromatic notes of white flowers, tropical fruit, and citrus, with lashings of leather, mineral, and pepper. Turckheim is one of the only locations in Alsace where this delicate grape can ripen fully, on a bed of gravel and sand soils.
The Zind-Humbrecht domain spans 42 hectares and a network of Grand crus in the stunning wine region of Alsace. It has been passed down through countless generations since 1620, making it one of the most steadfast and consistent wineries in the region. It is now owned by Olivier and Margaret Humbrecht, and their sons who joined the business in 2019.
The palate is marked by incredible dryness, with luscious flavours of nectarine, grapefruit and lemon zest, pineapple, and vanilla spice. In terms of mouthfeel, it provides the heft of a red wine, with velvety tannins and high acidity. Zind-Humbrecht’s fully organic approach makes this a pure expression of the Alsatian terroir - clean, cool, and vibrant. Consider pairing it with lightly spiced food, or seafood, such as prawn.
