Established in the late 1980s by Olivier Merlin and his wife Corinne, Domaine Merlin is a Southern Burgundy estate located in La Roche-Vineuse, not far from Macon, that produces excellent wines that are expressive of the region's fantastic terroir. The estate is now run by Théo and Paul, the second generation of the family.
The Chardonnay grapes are sourced from a few plots located at an average altitude of about 250 meters in the communes of Davayé and La Roche Vineuse. The vines enjoy southern exposure and are rooted in clayey-calcareous Quaternary soil (Bathonian). After manual harvesting and fermentation in oak barrels, the finished wine rests for 10 months in barriques, before bottling.
Domaine Merlin Saint Veran reveals a bright golden color with greenish reflections. Its aromatic profile is fresh and elegant, with fragrant notes of wildflowers, hawthorn, and almonds followed by toasted hints. On the palate, it is soft and balanced, broad and mineral, with a fresh and long finish that recalls light savory notes. Try it with buttered sea bream, scallops au gratin, or chicken Caesar salad.

overall i had a positive experience, they have a wide range of wines, some which are hard to find anywhere else - the main reason i still buy from them, plus the discounts are fair and often, but... their codes for the first offer only works at the first offer, which if fine, but then why would you send me the voucher in each package i order, why spam me on the email and every time i log in on the website? this is really bothering me... then their rewards points system is useless, first of all because you only get peanuts even after spending €250 on an order, but even those peanuts will expire if you won't order again soon, which is unfair, to say the least... and lastly, if you get a corked wine, a wine with any deffect or a wine that leaked (my last order contained a bottle of $100 Caymus Cabernet with a leaking cork, which made the wine tasted cooked and flat), they have no procedure put in place for you to replace or return the wine or to get a refund or replacement - none, which is a big no no no for any wine collector... so all in all i give it 3 stars for now
