The Domaine de la Vougeraie estate was founded in 1999 by Burgundy's largest wine-trading family, the Boissets. The project was created with the intention of bringing together the vineyards acquired over the years and the name of the estate recalls the village of Vougeot, the family's place of origin. The vineyards of the estate are certified organic and today cover approximately 34 hectares distributed in 27 appellations between the Côte de Nuits and the Côte de Beaune. All the wines are aged in barrels, new or used depending on the denominations.

The grapes come from a vineyard of less than one hectare located on calcareous soil rich in Arrone pebbles and pure silt. The vineyard, facing east, is surrounded by high walls and takes its name from the priory formerly owned by the Benedictine monks of the Parisian abbey of Saint-Germain-des-Prés. After the harvest, fermentation takes place first in steel vats and then in oak barrels. The finished wine is aged in barrels for 18 months and then in steel tanks for an additional month.

The wine reveals a rich and mature aromatic profile with notes of white flowers and yellow fruit, integrated with hints of sweet spices. On the palate, it is well structured and elegant with a harmonious mineral vein and a long, balanced, and slightly saline finish. Try it with turkey or roast chicken.
