Domaine de la Grand’Cour has become a benchmark for artisanal Beaujolais wines thanks to the dedication and hard work of owner Jean-Louis Dutraive whose family have deep roots in the region. Jean-Louis joined the family business in 1977 and today he works just 11.5 hectares of exceptional vineyards in the Fleurie and Brouilly villages. Some of the plots have been in his family for generations and he takes care to farm the vineyards by hand wherever possible without chemical treatments.

Once the grapes are safely in the winery Jean-Louis adopts a minimal intervention style of winemaking with minimal use of oak barrels to allow the natural beauty of the Gamay grape to shine through. His Fleurie Le Clos is crafted from 60 year old vines sourced from a stunning single vineyard, Clos de la Grand'Cour. Following vinification the young wine is aged for 6-8 months in oak barrels and foudres.
