Pierre Boisson is a respected winemaker, son of the renowned Bernard, who founded Domaine Boisson in the 1980s. Since 2017, Pierre and his sister Anne (also a winemaker) have taken over the reins of the family business, combining this activity with a small personal production.
Pierre Boisson cultivates approximately 3.5 hectares of vineyards, mainly located in the Côte de Beaune, cultivated with extreme care and attention, according to tradition, without the use of chemical fertilizers and with hand-plowing. The Haute Côtes de Beaune Rouge is produced with Pinot Noir grapes from hilltop vineyards in the regional appellation. The result is a pure and full-bodied wine that combines freshness, minerality, and complexity.
In the glass, the wine reveals a bright garnet color and a broad, fragrant aromatic profile with notes of cherry, strawberry, and raspberry, followed by hints of violet, licorice, and tobacco, on an earthy undertone reminiscent of mushroom nuances. On the palate, it is dense, well-structured, concentrated, and rounded. It has a well-integrated acidity and velvety tannins. The finish is long and recalls woody notes. It pairs deliciously with mushroom risotto, pork tenderloin, or roast pigeon.
