Established in the 1960s, Domaine Antonin Guyon is a family-run estate covering nearly 50 hectares of vineyards that include a fantastic range of appellations, most of which are Premier Cru and Grand Cru. The estate is now run by Dominique and the historic cellars, dating back to the 18th century, are located in Aloxe Corton and Savigny les Beaune.
The Chardonnay grapes come from vineyards of about 35 years located in the municipality of Aloxe-Corton, in the Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru appellation, on soils composed of white marl, with southern exposure. The harvest is manual and the fermentation takes place in oak barrels at low temperature. The finished wine is left to mature in oak barrels for 18 months.
This elegant white Burgundy reveals a golden color with some greenish reflections and a broad and complex aromatic profile with floral notes of acacia and lime, hints of honey, and ripe apple. On the palate, it is powerful and round, concentrated and mineral. It is a classy and well-balanced wine, which reveals an excellent aging potential. The finish is long and recalls a mineral vein. It works deliciously with lobster and chicken served with white sauces, and it’s an absolute must-try with foie gras escalope.
