Chateauneuf du Pape
Domaine Andre Mathieu La Centenaire Chateauneuf Du Pape 2019
Drink it now or cellar for up to 20 years. It is recommended to decant it for an hour.
Located in Chateauneuf Du Pape, the Domaine André Mathieu has a long tradition of 4 centuries. The family-run company is one of the most prestigious and oldest in the denomination, so much so that at the end of the 19th century Anselme Mathieu was one of the first winemakers in the city to sell his wine by the bottle. The vineyards within the Chateauneuf Du Pape appellation cover approximately 12 hectares, located in the Route de Courthézon, Route de Bédarrides, Route de Roquemaure, and Route d'Orange areas.
The wine is obtained from a blend of the 13 typical grapes of Chateauneuf Du Pape, from the oldest vines of the estate, planted at the beginning of the 20th century.
La Centenaire Chateauneuf Du Pape wine has an intense aromatic complexity, with concentrated scents of ripe black fruits such as blueberry and blackberry. On the palate, it is elegant and fleshy, round and silky, with some spicy accents in addition to the fruity intensity. The tannins are fine but decisive. The finish is long and deep. Try it now with lamb ribs, red meat stews, and aged cheeses, or let it rest in the cellar for a decade or two.
