Located in Macon Viré since 1956, Domaine André Bonhomme is a key estate in Burgundy. Its founder played a fundamental role in creating the Viré Classé appellation and is still considered one of the most important winemakers in the area. Today, the estate, which has grown from 4 to 12 hectares of organically farmed vines since 1956, is run by André’s descendants.
The Chardonnay grapes are selected and harvested manually from vineyards with an average age of 50 years located in Macon's Viré Classé appellation. Fermentation occurs spontaneously in steel vats to ensure the full aromatic expression of the grapes and preserve freshness.
The Viré Classé Vielles Vignes reveals a bright golden color with greenish reflections and a fresh and fragrant aromatic profile with notes of apple and pear and a delicate bouquet of white flowers. On the palate, it is lean and clean, fruity and round. It has a well-balanced acidity and a pleasant mineral note that lingers on the finish. You can keep it in the cellar for a few years, or, alternatively, serve it now for an elegant aperitif, paired with fried frog legs, snail Bourguignon, and all shellfish.
