Cremant
Chartron et Trebuchet Cremant de Bourgogne Pinot Noir Brut 2018
Cellar for up to 5 years. Serve chilled.
Maison Chartron et Trebuchet is a respected negociant or wine merchant that specialises in producing top quality white Burgundy wines at excellent price points. They begin by selecting only the very best plots to work with in the Côte d'Or and the Maconnais since the quality of the raw ingredients, the grapes, will ultimately determine the quality of the wine. During the growing season the grapes are carefully monitored and harvesting is done by hand to ensure the fruit arrives at the winery in perfect condition.
This stunning Cremant is crafted from Pinot Noir fruit, giving the wine a very delicate pale pink hue that is gorgeous to behold in the bottle and in the glass. The initial fermentation at Chartron et Trebuchet is done in the cask, which helps to give the young wine extra complexity and a smooth, creamy texture. Cremant de Bourgogne is often compared to its near neighbour, Champagne, since both are made using the traditional method of doing secondary fermentation and maturation on the lees inside the bottle for an extended period.
Elegant red berry and cherry notes dominate on the nose along with gentle hints of bright citrus and pomegranate, while the first sip reveals a smooth mousse, mouthwatering freshness, and a pure, clean finish. A great value sparkling wine to enjoy as an aperitif or partner for seafood, sushi, or grilled fish.
