This is a rich, medium to full-bodied Viognier, with a floral bouquet of rose and lilac. You can also detect scents of ripe apricot, tart apple, and grapefruit. It was sourced from Art Den Hoed vineyard in Washington state’s Yakima Valley, a high-elevation site with well-drained soil.

Charles Smith is one of the most bold and inventive winemakers of his generation, garnering worldwide praise from his headquarters in Walla Walla. House of Smith encompasses six distinct brands, and K Vintners is considered by Smith to be the original brand, his point of origin. The K Vintners range is heavily influenced by the Rhône Valley, using varieties such as Syrah and Viognier.

Art Den Hoed has a rich palate, with perfectly integrated acidity. It has a round texture in the mouth, complemented by a strong, focused core of fruit flavours. Look for notes of orange zest, pineapple, lime leaf and peach, with hints of marjoram and almonds. A creeping minerality appears on the finish. It’s classic Viognier, influenced by the unique terroir of Yakima Valley. Perfect for pairing with roast chicken, salmon, or a creamy vegetable curry.
