The story of this small family-run Champagne house dates back to 1889 when Jean-Baptiste Laherte first founded the estate. Today it is run by the 7th generation of the family, Aurélien, who’s part of the dynamic new wave of young winemakers making exceptional artisanal Champagnes by incorporating both new and old winemaking techniques and philosophies.

The family owns 9 hectares of vines which are spread over 70 different parcels and 10 communes, with the majority concentrated around Épernay and Chavot where the winery is based. This gives them the ability to craft stunning Champagnes which express the diversity and beauty of the local terroir, with a special focus on Pinot Meunier which thrives here. Most of the vineyards are farmed according to biodynamic principles since the family are passionate about producing top quality Champagne and preserving the property for future generations.

This stunning Brut is a great example of top Grower Champagne which offers excellent value thanks to the low profile of this talented family-run house. The cuvee is predominantly composed of Pinot Meunier along with 30% Chardonnay and 10% Pinot Noir with the primary fermentation carried out in barrels to add complexity and intensity of flavour. Dosage is kept very low to allow the natural character of the fruit and terroir to shine through, creating a brilliantly pure flavour profile with plenty of citrus, a distinctive stony minerality and a refreshing finish.
