Founded in 1798 by Claude Jacquesson in Dizy, the Maison Jacquesson is one of the historic Champagne companies and one of the most prestigious. Throughout its history, the Maison has been managed by various owners, and in 1974 it was finally bought by the Chiquet family who still owns it today. Since then, the company has greatly reduced its production focusing mainly on the approximately 30 hectares of vineyards owned in the municipalities of Avize, Aÿ, Dizy, and Hautvillers, producing wines that faithfully express the potential of its terroirs.
The 741 Cuvée from Maison Jacquesson is part of the '700' line of exceptional cuvées. It is an extraordinary Champagne capable of aging for a long time, of which only 14,609 standard bottles and 759 magnums were produced. The base wine is a blend of Chardonnay sourced from Avize and Pinot Noir from Aÿ and Dizy. The wine, at zero dosage, is finally left to refine for 94 months on the lees before the late disgorgement.
Champagne Jacquesson Cuvee 741 Degorgement Tardif is a fine and powerful wine with aromas of ripe yellow fruits, pears, and notes of bread crust and brioche. On the palate it is lively and complex with some mineral touches and a good citrus freshness. It is an elegant wine that goes deliciously with shellfish, lobster, and pan fried foie gras escalope.
