Founded in the 1960s, Champagne Ch. de l'Auche is a renowned cooperative in Champagne. The estate's vineyards are located in the Montagne de Reims district, near the village of Janvry, and benefit from nearby woodlands and bodies of water that create a highly favorable microclimate.
The Selection Brut is a Blanc de Noirs crafted from a blend dominated by Pinot Meunier, with smaller amounts of Pinot Noir and 40% reserve wine. Following vinification, the wine rests on its lees in the cellar for approximately three and a half years before disgorgement. It then spends another six months in the bottle before release.
The result is a sparkling wine with a mature, complex character, revealing a golden hue in the glass enlivened by a fine perlage. Its aromatic profile is broad and generous, featuring notes of pear and apricot interwoven with hints of candied fruit, hazelnuts, and bread crust. On the palate, it is round and juicy, rich and balanced with a pleasant creaminess. Fresh and lively, it perfectly marries a delicious fruity intensity with a complexity of flavors derived from the inclusion of reserve wines and extended aging. The finish is long and elegant. Try it with savory vegetable tarts, white fish appetizers, or creamy cheeses.
