Owned by the Paladin family, the Castello Bonomi estate extends over approximately 24 hectares of vineyards located on the slopes of Monte Orfano, in the southwestern area of the Franciacorta denomination. The company which produces around 150,000 bottles a year has its headquarters in an Art Nouveau building designed by the architect Antonio Tagliaferri at the end of the 19th century, with historic cellars that have been renovated with the creation of new underground spaces.
This splendid sparkling wine is produced with Chardonnay grapes selected and harvested at optimal ripeness from portions of 22 company crus by altitude, soil morphology, age of the vines, and exposure. The result is a very pleasant and approachable Franciacorta, which expresses all the typical features of this area of Lombardy near Lake Iseo.
Castello Bonomi Franciacorta Blanc de Blanc Cuvee 22 is a golden yellow wine with fine and persistent perlage. Its aromatic profile is fresh and mineral with fruity notes of pineapple, citrus, and melon, followed by hints of acacia flowers, vanilla, and dried fruit. On the palate, it is soft and elegant. It is an extremely balanced wine with a lively acidity and a savory and mineral finish. It is ideal with fish tartare, shellfish, and white meat.
