Winemaking on the slopes of Mount Pangeon stretches right back to the Neolithic period some six thousand years ago. It was here in 1998 that talented winemakers Vangelis Gerovassiliou and Vassilis Tsaktsarlis found the perfect site for a brand new winery which now has over 65 hectares of organic vineyards. In honour of the region’s heritage, the estate was named Biblia Chora after the ancient moniker used by writers like Hesiod, Theoktitos and Michael Psellos.

This stunning white is a delicate blend of both Greek and international grape varieties, Assyrtiko and Sauvignon Blanc. In the winery there is a short maceration on the skins which helps to bring out more of the aromas and flavours in the wine. After this the juice is fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks to lock in plenty of freshness and natural character from the grapes.

In the glass you’ll immediately notice the enticing notes of zesty lemon, lychee, pink grapefruit and even some gentle hints of nettle. The first sip reveals a light body, refreshing acidity and a smooth and clean finish which makes it perfect to serve with seafood or as an aperitif.
