Artuke is a Spanish winery located in Baños de Ebro in the Rioja wine region. It is managed by brothers Arturo and Kike de Miguel, members of the Rioja’n’Roll project, which aims to promote the terroir and its winemaking identity. The winery uses biodynamic practices with complete respect for the environment.
Produced in limited quantities (only 4,000 bottles), Trascuevas Blanco is a blend of Viura, Malvasia, and Palomino Fino grapes, sourced from three vineyards over 50 years old located in Baños de Ebro, Samaniego, and Abalos on clay-limestone soil. After harvesting and vinification, the finished wine ages for 10 months on the lees, half in barrels and the other half in concrete tanks.
The result is a distinctive and elegant wine, revealing a quintessential Mediterranean aromatic profile on the nose, with broad notes of wildflowers and herbs, ripe citrus, and Golden Delicious apples. On the palate, it has a creamy texture. It is smooth, rich, and mineral, with a pleasant vein of refreshing acidity that lingers on a long, harmonious finish. It is a wine with a distinctive personality, capable of aging for several years but perfect to enjoy now with scallop risotto, pan-fried white fish, or mac and cheese.
