Originally founded in 1985 as a cooperative bringing together 13 producers from the Rioja Alavesa area, the Artadi estate was then purchased in the early 1990s by oenologist Juan Carlos Lopez de la Calle who transformed it into one of the most renowned Spanish wineries, particularly known for its red wines. The company, which owns over 80 hectares of vineyards, has been converted to organic and follows a biodynamic philosophy. At the end of the 90s, the company also acquired vineyards in Navarra and Alicante.
Viñas de Gain Blanco is an energetic white produced with Viura grapes from vineyards located at an altitude between 450 and 700 meters at the foot of the Sierra de Cantabria and planted on clayey-limestone soils. After fermentation in wood, the wine is aged on its lees for 24 months.
The wine has a bright straw yellow color and a vibrant aromatic profile with notes of fresh white fruit and citrus, balsamic and toasted hints. On the palate, it is lively and fruity, fresh and round, with light mineral nuances and a great delicacy. It is an elegant white wine that can evolve in the cellar for a few years and goes perfectly with baked fish.
