Antinori Peppoli Chianti Classico 2021
Drink it now or cellar for up to 10 years. No need to decant but best to open it half an hour before service.
The Antinori family has been producing wine in Tuscany for over 26 generations. More than six hundred years have passed since Giovanni di Piero Antinori became part of the Florentine art of the Vinattieri. Today the company, which has added to the estates of Tuscany and Umbria, investments in other areas suited to viticulture both in Italy and abroad, is managed by the Marquis Piero Antinori, supported by his three daughters Albiera, Allegra, and Alessia.
Peppoli is located in the heart of the Chianti Classico, the historic Chianti denomination area characterized by unique soil and climatic conditions. The vineyards, planted in a valley, enjoy particularly favorable conditions and soils rich in minerals, ideal for growing a fresh Sangiovese with a fruity character. The finished wine is aged both in French oak and American oak barrels.
The Antinori Peppoli Chianti Classico is a wine characterized by a beautiful fruity fragrance with aromas of cherry and raspberry, complemented by notes of violet typical of Sangiovese and light nuances of vanilla due to the aging in wood. On the palate, the wine shows good acidity and soft tannins. It is balanced and tasty, with a persistent finish of fruity and spicy notes. Try it with pasta with meat sauce.
