Chardonnay
Antica Mountain Select Chardonnay 2020
Drink it now or cellar for up to 5 years. No need to decant it.
In 1998, the Antinori family, Tuscan winemakers for 26 generations, interested in the terroir and the winemaking potential of the Napa Valley, acquired a 24-acre estate of vineyards in this region of California. Today the estate, whose name Antica derives from the union of the name Antinori and California, extends over 600 acres of vineyards, arranged in an amphitheater and surrounded by steep slopes. Here the company grows Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Sangiovese and other international varieties.
Antica Napa Valley Chardonnay is a wine produced from 100% Chardonnay grapes from vineyards grown at the highest altitudes within the estate. The grapes are selected at the optimum moment of ripeness and harvested by hand in the early morning hours to ensure maximum flavor intensity and perfect freshness. Fermentation takes place in French oak barrels, where the wine rests for 10 months.
This Chardonnay displays a straw yellow color and reveals notes of pear and white peach. In the mouth, the wine is well structured and endowed with a creaminess well balanced by a zesty acidity. The finish is long and persistent with very fresh fruity notes. It is an elegant and harmonious wine that goes very well with chicken, turkey, and mushroom-based recipes. It's especially a must-try with mushroom risotto.
