What is the difference of wine and Champagne?

Champagne is a sparkling wine that can only be made in the Champagne region, in France, in accordance with stringent production rules. It goes through a secondary fermentation in the bottle, called méthode traditionnelle, which gives it its typical effervescence. On the other hand, wine covers many types of alcoholic drinks that are made from fermented grapes and they could be still, sparkling or fortified turnouts made in different parts of the world. Champagne is identified by its place of origin, process of production, and unique taste characteristic, thus, making it quite different from other wines.
