Is Saperavi sweet or dry?

The majority of the Saperavi wines are dry, they are very deep in color, firm in tannins and intense in the flavor. Native to Georgia, this grape variety gives wines with a complex expression of dark fruit flavors like blackberry and plum, at times complemented by earthiness and spice. Some winemakers however tend to make slightly sweeter styles irrespective of the fact that most of the wines are crafted in a dry style to accentuate the grape’s full-bodied and complex character.
