How do Bordeaux red blends vary depending on the region of production?

Bordeaux red blends reflect wide variety of styles in various parts of Bordeaux region. The wines of the Left Bank that includes the wines from the Médoc and Pessac-Léognan predominantly contain the Cabernet Sauvignon grape which blooms into wines with firm tannins and distinct blackcurrant finishes. On the other hand, the wines of Right Bank (especially those from Saint-Émilion and Pomerol) are Merlot-dominated, having soft tannins and rich plum and cherry flavors. Further, aspects including terroir, climate, and winemaking methods also add to the distinctive features of Bordeaux red blends from every area.
