Cabernet Sauvignon
Torres Manso de Velasco 2014
Drink it now or cellar for up to 15 years. It is recommended to decant it for half an hour.
Founded in 1979 in the Curico Valley, the Chilean branch of the Spanish Torres winery has been producing wines of great quality and excellent value for money for more than 40 years. The company, considered one of the most important brands in Spain, has played a fundamental role in the innovation of the Chilean wine industry, introducing modern technologies and the use of French oak barrels for maturation. Since 2012, the company has been certified organic.
Manso de Velasco is a great red wine produced only with Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, coming from a single vineyard with plants about one hundred years old, which guarantee a great concentration of aromas. The finished wine is aged for 18 months in 300-liter French oak barrels and then left to rest for a further 6 months in the bottle.
Its red color is extraordinarily intense with shades tending towards garnet. On the nose, the wine reveals an aromatic profile rich in ripe dark fruit, spices, cocoa, and black tea. On the palate, it is full and well-structured with velvety tannins and perfect balance. The long and persistent finish recalls spicy and mineral notes. It is excellent with meat, especially game, and with aged cheeses.
