This New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc is a bright yellow colour, with strong scents of lime, gooseberry and mixed tropical fruits. As it opens up, you can also find an undercurrent of dried herbs. It is highly aromatic and packed with zest and vigour, making it a classic example of Sauvignon from New Zealand’s Marlborough region.

Out of all of New Zealand’s excellent winemaking regions, Marlborough is by far the most critically acclaimed and recognisable. Māori call the entire region, the Wairau Valley, “the place with the hole in the cloud”, referring to its beautiful, sunny climate. With this Sauvignon Blanc, the folks at Taka have managed to capture that sunshine in a bottle.

It is a fresh, medium-bodied white wine, with a crisp vein of acidity throughout. Complex flavours of green apple, crystallised ginger, citrus rind and passion fruit mingle on the tongue. The finish is smooth and detailed, slowly melting away in your mouth. Taka’s Sauvignon Blanc is excellent quality for money, perfect for anybody who enjoys a food-friendly New World white. Consider pairing it with fish, summer salads, or a selection of goat's cheese.
