Founded in 2003, Sonberk is one of the most important Czech wineries. Its history is linked to a very long tradition. The vine was in fact cultivated in this region since Roman times, and the name of the area (literally translating as 'sunny hill') recalls exactly the presence of slopes facing south and a warm and sunny climate that guarantee favorable conditions for the cultivation of the vine. The cellar, which offers an extraordinary view of the vineyards, is the first example of modern wine architecture in the Czech Republic.

The vineyards of the Sonberk company extend over about 40 hectares at an altitude of 230 meters with a south and south-west orientation. The grapes are harvested manually and all the work is followed by the oenologist Roman Slouk with great attention.

This award-winning Riesling has a golden color and smells of white flowers and lime peel, aromatic herbs, and dried fruit. On the palate, it is sapid, delicate, and fresh, with notes of ripe apricots and candied citrus fruits and with a subtle spiciness. It is a refined wine endowed with good minerality and body and with good aging potential. The finish is persistent, spicy, and mineral. Try it with Thai seafood recipes, green curry, and white fish.
