The Reyneke family began making wine in 1998 when Johan Reyneke took over the running of their farm from his mother. Johan is passionate about working in harmony with the natural world, and Reyneke is famous for being South Africa’s very first biodynamic certified winery. He even uses the estate’s ducks to naturally fertilise the vineyards which occupy a stunning setting in Stellenbosch overlooking False Bay with dramatic mountains in the backdrop.

This vibrant white is made with hand-selected grapes from easterly and southerly facing slopes on the property. Once in the winery the fruit is slowly fermented at low temperatures over a three week period and then left to mature on the lees for 3 months. This low, slow fermentation helps to showcase aromatics and freshness in the wine, highlighting the natural character of the Sauvignon Blanc.

Rich tropical fruit like mango, pineapple and lychee dominate on the nose, while the first sip reveals a mouthwatering freshness, light body and smooth texture. The perfect balance between fruit and acidity makes this a great wine to serve as an aperitif or partner for sushi, fresh seafood, mature cheeses and leafy summer salads.
