This punchy Shiraz fills the glass with inviting aromas of ripe plums, cherries and wild berry jam, while the first sip reveals a silky soft texture and spicy hints of cloves, cinnamon, and freshly-cracked black pepper. The luscious fruit-forward personality means this bold Shiraz is an ideal partner for American-style smoky barbecued ribs or a fine rump steak. Other excellent food pairings include a generous platter of charcuterie, meaty pasta dishes or even Mexican classics like chicken mole or fajitas.

Red Diamond winery is located up in Washington State on the edge of the dramatic Columbia River gorge. Although the winery is fairly young, they immediately made a name for themselves with the release of their first wine in 2003 which was a sell-out success. Since then the winery has chosen to focus on single varietal wines which are made to authentically express the unique characteristics of each grape.

Other varieties in the series include their Merlot, which was their first wine to be released, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, and Chardonnay. Thanks to the extreme climate in the region which varies between frosty cold winters and hot summers, each of their wines exudes a pure concentrated fruit character which allows them to craft pure expressions of their chosen varieties.
