This salmon pink rosé is a handpicked blend of Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvèdre, sourced from vineyards near the winery’s headquarters in Yad Hashmona, in the Judaean Hills. It is a dry, medium-bodied rosé, loaded with aromas of strawberry and raspberry, with citrus hints of grapefruit, and an undercurrent of baking spice.

The Razi’el winery is the successor to Domaine du Castel, one of Israel’s most renowned wineries. Founded in 2017, is a relatively new name on the scene, but the fantastic winemakers behind the scenes have already cemented its place as a top-class producer. It is currently owned and operated by Eli Ben-Zaken, the pioneer behind Domaine du Castel.

This is an appealing and extremely food-friendly rosé, with a perfectly balanced structure and palate-cleansing acidity. It is round and juicy in the mouth, exhibiting layers of tart red fruits, clean minerality, and subtle vanilla spice. The wine matured for 6 months in French oak barrels before release, imparting an oaky tinge. For lovers of pink wine, the Razi’el rosé is an intriguing alternative to Provence, and is ideal for pairing with soft cheese, seafood, or a Mediterranean plate.
